Vacuum Forming / Moulding

Talbot Designs are able to manufacture high quantity and cost-effective moulded shapes, using our computer controlled vacuum forming machines. With a bed size of up to 70" x 46" and a draw depth of 14"+, we are able to cope with a very varied range of different shaped and sized mouldings. We use all the thermoplastics available to produce components to our clients' exacting standards.

We have an in-house tooling and assembly department, where we can monitor quality through out the whole manufacturing process. We also have modern trimming band saws allowing for cost effective finishing of the moulded plastic.

Talbot can make one off samples, or set up for long production runs. The process of heating a flat sheet and vacuuming over a 3D shape allows us to create an almost endless variety of moulded shapes. We can advise you as to the suitability of the shape for vacuum forming so please call us with any queries.

Coca Cola button

Reverse printed PETG Coca Cola button formed over in house tooling. Expertise is required to ensure the print is not distorted or damaged during the forming process.

Super-size mineral water bottle moulding

A Super-size mineral water bottle moulding for a drinks promotion required us to construct this 60" model of a well known water bottle manufacturer. The tools were built in-house and we needed to mimic the exact detail on the sports type cap. We moulded this in standard white High Impact Polystyrene. The bottle was formed in 5mm clear PETG and joined along two vertical edges.

Deep draw moulding

Examples of our ability to achieve the almost impossible. This deep draw moulding was moulded in 5mm clear PETG. PETG was chosen for its deep draw and even stretching abilities. This is a prototype unit we made to allow us to eliminate any of the problems before commencing with a longer production run.

Underwater camera housing

Industrial moulding and fabrication in 5mm black and white ABS for underwater camera housing. The overlap formings were sealed to cope with increased water pressure and the front insert and flange rings were CNC machined from ABS plate to ensure a perfect water seal.
