Large drinks are the order of the day at Talbot Designs
Drinks industry marketers wanting to make a big splash with their promotions can face a conundrum when it comes to making a larger-than-life bespoke glass or bottle. Now the secret is out as it emerges that North London specialist plastics fabricator, Talbot Designs, is often behind such creations as the world’s largest beer bottle, giant wine-glasses, a giant jar for Argos and, most recently, a giant ‘pint’ beer glass for a Government Drink-Drive campaign in December 2007.
The 7ft plastic replica of a pint glass created by Talbot Designs made a journey around the UK as part of a Government campaign warning drivers of the risks posed by taking to the wheel whilst under the influence of alcohol.
The world’s largest beer bottle, verified as such by the Guinness Book of World Records, was also made by Talbot Designs for Kingfisher Beers. Constructed from 12mm tinted acrylic and measuring over 2.1m in height, it weighed over ½ ton and, when filled, held 625 litres (1100 pints) of beer.
Other clients in the drinks industry include Fosters, Heineken and Coca-Cola.

Richard Woolff, Managing Director of Talbot Designs, said: “We are regularly called upon to produce larger than life objects – many of them involving food and drinks. We’re always pleased to hear from marketers and promotions teams with a new challenge; what we manufacture for clients is really limited only by their imagination. We have attained an enviable list of record-breaking firsts in thermoplastic fabrication including a number of giant-sized replicas of products and product packaging”.
